After leaving the Royal Navy in 1982, I completed an HND in Food Technology and used it as a stepping stone to start training as an accountant. Whilst taking my professional exams I worked in practice for a number of accountancy firms both large internationals and smaller practices undertaking audits, taxation work and preparing annual and management accounts for companies with multi-million pound turnovers, to small sole traders.
After qualifying as a Certified Accountant, I moved into industry working in the UK and Holland in the Computer, Aviation, Food, Vehicle Repair and Polyurethane industries.
I joined intY just under 12 years ago and have enjoyed every minute of it, despite my sometimes-prickly exterior.
There are five of us who work in finance undertaking a wide range of tasks from purchase invoice processing to special projects and the everyday accounts and statutory work that needs to be done. The whole intY team is great to work with and there’s always a fantastic buzz in the building. I am really excited about where we are going.
My wife Julie and I have 4 children and a labrador. I am very involved in Scouting in Bristol which takes up most of my time out of work apart from the odd weekend in Devon.
