Be an exhibitionist! Why we take advantage of exhibiting at trade shows

There is no shortage of ways for businesses to connect with new customers these days – LinkedIn, email marketing, advertising, PR – there are a whole plethora of tactics to choose from. However, I still, and always will favour the original networking platform – old-fashioned face-to-face connections.

Despite the constant beneficial developments in online communication, utilising trade shows well is still a key component to the success of any business, intY included. It’s no secret that trade shows take a significant amount of investment, so choosing the right one(s) to attend is crucial.

One of the most important trade shows for us at intY is Microsoft Inspire, which takes place July 15th-19th this year in Las Vegas. The exhibition is spread over five days and is one of the best places to meet new and existing business contacts.

We’ve had such great success at Microsoft Inspire in previous years, that I was featured in this year’s ‘why attend Microsoft Inspire’ video.

Why Attend Microsoft Inspire

Microsoft’s mission is “to empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more” and Microsoft Inspire prides itself on being the place the world comes to transform business. This year, we’re taking a stand alongside our Gold sponsorship, and are excited about another successful show. Here’s why:

1. Meet new partners

It’s also a great place to meet new potential partners, more than 18,000 people attend Microsoft Inspire each year, with a lot looking to find new suppliers. A great way to entice these potential partners and make your business stand out against your competitors is to come up with exciting and fun ways of getting people to your stand, then your sales team can step in and promote your products and business to them.

2. Meet international partners

We use Microsoft Inspire as a base to meet our international CSP partners, as it’s difficult for our sales team to go to different countries every week to meet their contacts, so Inspire is a great show for them to solidify those relationships.

3. New Business

People attending the show as guests aren’t the only ones who can bring you new business, it may be that other exhibitors are interested in striking up a business partnership, so be sure to familiarise yourself with the exhibitors at the show because there could be great connections for you to make. Microsoft encourages partner-to-partner relationships and Inspire is the best place to make this happen.

4 Seminars

Another advantage of exhibiting, especially at a key trade show, is the opportunity to give or attend seminars. Hosting your own seminar showcases you, and by extension, your business, as an authoritative voice in the industry. It can also help increase footfall to your stand for the rest of the show. Attending seminars allows you and your team to stay up to date on what’s happening in the sector you work in and meet influential people in your space. We can’t wait to learn more about Data, AI and digital transformation at this year’s Inspire seminars.

5. Brand awareness

Exhibiting at shows is a great way to get your brand noticed in your industry. As a global Microsoft CSP Indirect Provider, we want to showcase our services and brand to the CSP community and having an amazing stand with your logo displayed high for all to see is the perfect way to do this.

Mostly, the benefit of exhibiting at a trade show is the potential new business you’d secure, as well as maintaining the all-important relationships with your existing clients. The added extras would be the learning your team can achieve whilst there.

If you are attending this year’s Microsoft Inspire, come and see intY on stand 1223 as we have an exciting new announcement to help you make smarter sales!
